Famiglia cagliaritana originaria di Maiorca le cui notizie risalgono al secolo XVI. Nel 1571 un Gerolamo fu consigliere del castello; nel 1568 suo figlio Giovanni Gerolamo ottenne il cavalierato ereditario. Nel 1594 Tommaso, suo figlio, acquistò dal fisco le signorie di Villacidro e di Serramanna e nel 1603 ottenne la nobiltà. Nel 1610 Antonio figlio di Tommaso ebbe il titolo di conte di Serramanna; sposò una Gualbes che gli portò in dote il marchesato di Palmas e le baronie di Monastir, Acquafredda e Villaspeciosa. Egli ottenne che nel 1627 anche Villacidro fosse elevata in marchesato e nel 1632 acquistò dal fisco la signoria della Planargia. Fu questo il momento di maggior splendore della famiglia, successivamente il marchese Antonio prese parte alla congiura contro il marchese di Camarassa. I Brondo si estinsero agli inizi del secolo XVIII e i feudi della famiglia furono ereditati dai Bou Crespi. ...

Inquartato; nel primo di rosso, alla quercia fruttifera, nudrita sulla pianura erbosa, fra due teste di moro recise, posate sulla pianura, affrontate, il tutto al naturale, nel secondo d'argento, alla banda d'oro accompagnata da due coppe dello stesso per inchiesta, nel terzo d'argento, al leone al naturale; nel quarto d'azzurro, alla montagna d'argento con una sega al naturale infissa nella medesima.
