Antica ed assai nobile famiglia di Recanati, conosciuta come Buratti o Buratta, la quale fu aggregata alla nobiltà di Recanati nel 1567, in persona di "Baptista una cum suis filiis electus et aggregatus etc.". Essendosi, però, i suoi discendenti allontanatisi per lungo tempo da Recanati, stabilendosi in Cingoli e Montecassiano, perdettero la nobiltà, in base a quanto stabilito dagli statuti. Molti membri del casato furono maggiordomi alla corte ducale di Urbino mentre altri furono celebri guerrieri e cavalieri mauriziani. Quando un Pietro, del fu Accursio, tornò in Recanati, fu reintegrato nella nobiltà di Recanati nel 1735, con tutta la sua discendenza. Lo stesso Pietro, in data 14 settembre 1744, ottenne anche la nobiltà di Cingoli. Un ramo del casato aggiunse per eredità il cognome e l'arma dei Simonetti di Cingoli, nel 1665. La famiglia è comunque iscritta genericamente nell'Elenco Uff. Nob. Ital. del 1922 col titolo di Nobile di Recanati ...
