Nobility crown Camillo Conte Benso Di CavourCamillo Paolo Filippo Giulio Benso, conte di Cavour, di Isolabella e di Leri, nacque a Torino il 10 agosto 1810, in una famiglia dell'antica nobiltà piemontese, di origine sabauda. La sua famiglia discende dai Benso, arrivati in Italia al seguito di Federico Barbarossa e banchieri attivi nel Medioevo, a Chieri. La linea genealogica principale della famiglia si estinse nel XVIII secolo, ma, nel secolo precedente, il ramo da cui sarebbe nato Camillo, aveva acquistato il marchesato della cittadina di Cavour, dando così iniziò alla linea nobiliare, universalmente conosciuta. Il padre del nostro padre della Patria, ovvero il marchese Michele Antonio (1781 - 1850), titolo del quale fu spogliato, era stato funzionario napoleonico e, successivamente, capo della polizia torinese, negli anni della restaurazione. A Ginevra, ove si era rifugiato, per sfuggire alle persecuzioni antiaristocratiche, nel 1801, conobbe Adele de Sellon (1780-1846), appartenente ad una famiglia francese, che nella città svizzera aveva ...
