Nobility crown CenciAntichissimo casato, detto anticamente Cencia, tra i più importanti delle nobili famiglia romane. Secondo una leggenda la famiglia deriverebbe, addirittura, da un nobile romano, Marco Cincio, vissuto nel 193 d.C. Sono ricordati con importanza Paolo e Bernardino Cenci, cavalieri romani che parteciparono alla prima crociata e Stefano, autore del triste e famoso rapimento ordito contro Papa Gregorio VII. Ebbero un Papa, con Giovanni X nel X secolo e innumerevoli appartenenti al casato furono Cardinali, Senatori e Conservatori. Un Baldassarre fu Conservatore di Roma nel 1513 e, nella Costituzione Benedettina, tra i nobili coscritti, troviamo un Virginio, il quale morì il 4 dicembre 1755, e, con Senatus Consulto del 7 dicembre dello stesso anno, venne annoverato tra i coscritti Girolamo, che morì il 15 agaosto 1803; suo figlio Virginio con Senatus Consulto del 4 giugno 1804 venne designato a nobile coscritto, il quale avendo sposata l'ultima discendente della nobile famiglia Bolognetti unì al cognome Cenci quello di Bolognetti. Alla morte di Virginio avvenuta il 18 agosto 1837, con Senatus Consulto del 12 giugno 1838, venne nominato nobile coscritto Alessandro, figlio di Virginio. La famiglia si imparentò con molte altre nobili dinastie romane, dai Fabi agli Astalli, dai Massimo ai Mattei, dagli Orsini ai Frangipane. L'insieme delle costruzioni, palazzi e palazzetti, siti al confine del rione Regola, sorgono sul luogo delle antichissime proprietà della famiglia, risalenti al medioevo. Come non ricordare, poi, la figura di Beatrice, figlia del perfido Francesco, la cui figura, narrata da grandi scrittori, tra cui Stendhal, e storici e immortalata nel celebre dipinto attribuito a Guido Reni, ha oltrepassato la storia per entrare a far parte della leggenda. Altro ramo. Antica e nobile famiglia originaria di Firenze detta Cenci, COnci, Centi o Centa. Arme giusta: Troncato merlato d'oro e d'azzurro (o d'oro e di rosso). ...
