Antica famiglia che il Pagliarino, cronista vicentino, dice originaria di Faenza da dove sarebbe passata ad abitare a Vicenza per ragioni di funzione nella persona di Matteo nel 1320. Cronisti di Bassano, di scarsa attendibilità, la vogliono originaria dagli Orsini. A Bassano però vennero da Enego, comune dell'altopiano di Asiago. Secondo il Pagliarino sarebbero passati da Vicenza ad Energo verso la fine del 1600. A Bassano dove avevano una posizione distinta ma non nobile, esercitavano il commercio del legname e non furono compresi fra i nobili che nel 1726 per pure ragioni economiche. Furono compresi fra nobili senza Decreto del Consiglio, ma d'autorità del Riformatore nel 1726 e rimasero poi sempre in Consiglio riportanto la conferma austriaca con S. R. 20 ottobre 1822.
