Nobility crown CorbetRoberto C., descendiente de una muy antigua y poderosa casa de Inglaterra, enlazada con la de los duques de Bretaña, la de los condes de Corniwal o Cornualles, y otras no menos poderosas y antiguas de aquella nacion, vino a España en el año 1581, e hizo su asiento en Sevilla, donde casó con Doña Isabel Álvarez, de ilustre alcurnia, y fueron fundadores de la casa C., que por algunos siglos ha brillado entre las principales y mas esclarecidas casas de aquella opulenta y magnífica ciudad. Entre los preclaros antecesores y sucesores de Roberto, sobresalen por sus merecimientos y nobles hazañas los que siguen: Reinaldo C. se distinguió por su esfuerzo y serenidad en los combates, y fué a la conquista de Tierra Santa. Alisa C., hermana suya, tuvo de Enrique I, rey de Inglaterra, un hijo, que fué Reinaldo, conde de Corniwal, y una hija, que fué Matilde de Inglaterra, la cual casó con Conan, duque de Bretaña. Roberto C. se halló en la jornada de Tierra Santa y en la empresa de Constantinopla, año 1204. Hugo C. ausilió a Guido, conde de Flandes, en la sangrienta guerra que tuvo contra el rey de Francia Felipe el Hermoso, por los años de 1287. Don Roberto C., nieto de los espresados Roberto y su muger Doña Isabel, fué caballero de la órden de Calatrava, veinticuatro de Sevilla y alcalde de la Santa Hermandad por el estado noble de la villa de Salteras. Don Pedro C., descendiente de los anteriores, nació en Sevilla año 1634, y falleció en 1699; fué caballero de la órden de Santiago. ...
