Guiomar Borges, filha herd.ª de António Borges de Sousa ou de Gândia, fidalgo da C. R. (3.7.1525), cavaleiro da o. de Cristo, feitor da Fazenda Real em S. Miguel, juiz da alfândega na ilha Terceira de 1520 a 1552, contador-mór e provedor da Fazenda Real dos Açores, que teve carta de brazão de armas (Borges pleno, tendo por diferença un crescente de prata) passado en Évora a 13.4.1535 e reformada a 23.10.1550, e de sua mulher D. Isabel Barbosa da Silva. António Borges de Sousa ou de Gândia era filho de Duarte Borges de Sousa, fidalgo da C. R. e provedor da S.ta Casa da Misericórdia de Lisboa, e neto de Pedro Borges, fidalgo das Casas de D. João II e D. Manuel, "do verdadeiro tronco dos Borges". Pedro Borges de Sousa foi casado com D. Maria de Medeiros Araújo (f. a 1.7.1652), filha de Gaspar Dias, rico mercador, e de sua muher D. Ana de Medeiros Araújo. Os cônjuges insituiram, a 4.9.1635, um grande morgadio e a capela de N.ª Sr.ª da Boa Nova que, em conjunto com um vínculo instituido por D. Maria, já viúva a 25.5.1647. ...
