Antica ed assai nobile famiglia guelfa di Ferrara, ove risulta presente sin dall'VIII secolo, originaria della Bulgaria, di chiara ed avita virtù, conosciuta come Marchesiello, Marchesielli o Marcheselli, propagatasi, nel corso dei secoli, in diverse regioni d'Italia e del Mondo. Secondo quanto ci viene tramandato, la famiglia discende dal Conte Adelardo, fiorente nel secolo decimo secondo. Essa risulta essersi divisa in tre linee maggiori, una delle quali andò in Rovigo, un'altra in Ancona mentre la terza rimase in Ferrare. Ivi, molti dei suoi membri coprirono la carica di magistrato dei Dodici Savi e di Capitano del popolo. Un Marchesello fu creato Marchese della Marca Anconitana e lasciò il proprio nome ai discendenti. Altro ramo. Nobile famiglia bolognese. Jacopino nel 1257, Rodolfo nel 1315 e Michele nel 1336 furono degli anziani ed il primo di essi, mentre sosteneva quella carica, ricevette consegne di terreni per la fabbrica del ponte sul Reno. ...
