Esta familia se estableció en Mallorca a raíz de la reconquista, pues los hermanos Pedro y Raimundo D. acompañaron al rey don Jaime I de Aragón y quedaron heredados en el repartimiento general de las tierras, con una alquería en la villa de Petra. Algunos de este linaje se apellidaron Cos solamente; pero no se le debe confundir con los Cos originarios de la montaña de Santander. Guillermo Descós, caballero mallorquín en 1343, juró obediencia a Don Pedro IV de Aragón, como representante de la ciudad de Palma. Bartolomé D. era en 1362 Clavario del reino de Mallorca. Bernardo D. fué en 1429 Jurado de la ciudad y reino de Mallorca, por el estamento de ciudadanos, y en 1461 desempeñó el mismo cargo Bartolomé D. Arnaldo D., gran partidario de las doctrinas de Raimundo Lulio y discípulo de Dagni, sucedió a éste en la cátedra de la Universidad de Palma. Pedro Juan D. fué en 1497 Jurado por la clase de ciudadanos, y en 1523, siendo Conseller de la misma clase, se distinguió luchando contra los Comuneros. Juan D. era Jurado ciudadano en 1496. Francisco D. fué uno de los caballeros que en 1541 llevaron las varas del palio del Rey Carlos V, desde el muelle al Palacio Real. Jerónimo D. era en 1561 Jurado de la ciudad y reino por la clase de ciudadanos. Ramón D. figuró entre los Capitanes que en 1583 pasaron a recuperar la isla de Cabrera, que había ocupado los moros. Acabó esta familia a principios del siglo XVII y la sucedió la casa de Oleza. ...
