Nobility crown DespujolLa familia de D., oriunda de la parroquia de San Hipólito de Voltregá, del partido judicial y diócesis de Vic, provincia de Barcelona, es una de las más antiguas de la nobleza catalana, remontándose al siglo X los antecedentes que de ella se poseen. En la capilla del Sacramento, de la citada parroquia, existe el enterramiento de la misma, viéndose en la lápida que lo cubre esculpidas sus armas y la efigie del venerable Pedro D. (año de 1100) y un epitafio en latín, bajo el cual, y en una segunda losa, se halla otra inscripción en lengua catalana que acredita por sí sola la antigüedad y nobleza de dicha familia, aun en aquella remota época. Es conocida su casa pairal por " El D.", y de ella tomó nombre el apellido. Dicha casa fue incendiada en 1463 durante las guerras de Juan II. Reconstruida después, subsiste todavía. Los tratadistas Zurita y Felíu de la Peña dicen que en 15 de octubre de 1167, con motivo de una entrada que hicieron los cristianos por el reino de Murcia, murió a manos de los moros un general o capitán catalán llamado Guillermo D. y con él muchos caballeros que le seguían. Pedro de D. fue uno de los que más se distinguieron en la conquista de Valencia en 1238, por cuyo motivo le donó el rey Jaime I las casa del moro Mohamet Alcazal. También Ramón de D. tomó parte en la conquista de Valencia y fue heredado con dos casa en Ruzafa. Al abolirse la Orden del Temple, en 1311, era caballero profeso de la misma, en Aragón, Bertrán de D. ...
