Questa famiglia Cremasca è originaria da Terni ed esulò nel secolo XII, durante la lotta delle fazioni, con un Pietro Di Gregori, dottore in leggi, che, abbandonata la patria, si rifugiò a Crema, ove assunse il nome della città di origine. Ben presto assunsero a notorietà e coprirono, nella nuova patria, le principali cariche nella magistratura e parteggiando per i guelfi. Devotissimi alla Repubblica Veneta ebbero da questa incarichi onorevolissimi e quando Venezia fu travagliata dall'aspra lotta cogli Estensi e cogli Sforza, a Bartolino Di Gregori fu affidata la custodia e la difesa di Crema. Pietro fu dotto ricercatore di documenti antichi per la storia della città di Crema. Costui generò quel ramo della famiglia che si estinse con una femmina maritatasi in casa Clavelli. Con D.
