La branche aînée fondue par les Vitré dans les barons de Mayenne, qui transmirent la vicomté de Dinan aux barons d'Avaugour, par qui elle fut vendue au duc Jean, en 1265. La branche de la Bellière fondue dans Botherel, et la seigneurie de la Bellière a été possédée successivement depuis, par les Ragnenel de Malestroit, Rieux, Laval, Montjean, Acigné, du Chastel, Rieux, Boiséon, par acquêt en 1674 Giraud et par alliance Collin de Bois-Hamon. La branche de Montafilant, à laquelle appartenait Geoffroi, tué au siège de Carthage en 1390 et Jacques, grand bouteiller de France; mort en 1444, frère de Bertrand, seigneur des Huguetières, maréchal de Bretagne, en 1425, a fini à Françoise, dame de Montafilant et de Chateaubriant, mort en 1499, femme de l'infortuné prince Gilles de Bretagne; du comte de Laval; de Jean de Proisy, gentilhomme picard. La seigneurie de Montafilant a passé collatéralement des Laval aux Tournemine, et successivemente aux la Motte-Vauclair, Rosmadec et Rieux d'Assérac. La branche de Bécherel fondue dans Avaugour, et la seigneurie de Bécherel a été possédée ensuite par les maisons de Tintèniac, Laval, Montfort, Coligny, Glé, le Blanc de la Valliére, Lopriac et Kerhoënt. Les seigneuries de Guicaznou et Bodister ont passé collatèralement aux Montespèdon, Scépeaux, Gondy, du Parc-Locmaria et Caradeuc; la seigneurie de Runfao a été transmise par les Gondy aux Boiséon puis aux l'Écu de Beauvais. ...
