Famille originaire de Vichy, remontant sa filiation à Charles Douet employé des gabelles dans cette ville au XVIIème siècle. Son fils Gabriel, fermier du maréchal de Villeroy et de Mgr de Villeroy archevêque de Lyon, fit une grande fortune et acheta d'immenses terres. Il fut le père de Claude Douet, fermier général conseiller au parlement de Dombes, anobli (1722), lequel acquit par voie de retrait féodal la terre et marquisat d'Allègre du comte des Marets de Maillebois et de son épouse Catherine de Paulmy de Voyer d'Argenson (1766). Il mourut à Paris, paroisse St-Roch le 14 avril 1778. Un de ses fils, aussi fermier général, né à Lyon, périt en 1795, victime de la Révolution laissant une soeur: Mme de Lamassé et un frère qui eut deux filles: Claudine mariée à Louis comte de la Tour du Pin-Chambly et Gabrielle mariée à Armand-Guillaume Joly de Fleury. Ceux-ci ayant hérité par indivis des précédents, s'empressèrent, au retour de l'émigration, de dépecer et de vendre à la Bande Noire la terre d'Allègre qui avait pu leur être conservée intacte. ...
