Elle compte parmi ses membres les seigneurs Ste-Catherine-du-Fraisse, du Vernet, de St-Vert, coseigneurs de St-Germain-l'Herm et de la Baronnie de la Deyte-sur-Arlanc, etc. Noblesse chevaleresque, connue depuis Bertrand, chevalier, seigneur de Châteauneuf et de St-Vert, qui fonda avec son frère Guillaume, en 1151, le prieuré d'Esteil. Cinq admissions au chapitre de Brioude (1256-1341). Louis de Drac chevalier, légua par son testament du 13 mars 1368, une partie de la seigneurie de Sept-Vert, à l'abbaye de La Chaise-Dieu. Éteinte avec Alixène, dame de Châteauneuf-du-Drac et du Vernet, qui apporta ces terres à son mari Bertrand de la Queille chevalier, vers 1380. Catherine, mariée le 14 janvier 1570 à Jean de Mesgriny, écuyer, seigneur de la Villeneuve, de la Loge, de Briel-près-Troyes, conseiller maître de la chambre des aides et des comptes de Paris, était fille de Adrien du Drac, vicomte d'Ay, conseiller au parlement de Paris, qui se prétendait issu d'un rameau de l'ancienne maison du Drac en Auvergne. Il en portait les armes, mais la légitimité de ce rameau et sa jonction n'ont pas été établies. ...
