Nobility crown Du FaouTrès illustre maison de la Bretagne, d'une haute antiquité, dont les premiers auteurs connus sont: Morvan, vivait en 1086; Morvan fit le voyage d'outre mer; mort à Saint-Jean d'Acre, en 1218; Guy prisonnier à la bataille d'Auray en 1365; Jacob, seigneur du Lézart et de Rustéphan vivant en 1426, marié à Tiphaine de Saint Juzel, père d'Yves, grand veneur de France en 1472; de Raoul, évêque d'Angoulême puis d'Evreux en 1480; de Jean grand échanson de France en 1469, marié à Jeanne de la Rochefoucault, dame de Montbazon en Touraine, dont: Renée, dame de Rustéphan et de Montbazon, mariée en 1492 à Louis de Rohan, seigneur de Guémené; à Guillaume de la Marck, seigneur d'Aigremont. La branche aînée fondue en 1371 dans la maison du Quélennec, d'où la vicomté du Faou a passé successivement aux Beaumanoir, Guémadeuc et du Plessis-Richelieu. Le maréchal duc de Richelieu la vendit aux Rohan-Chabot par qui elle fut revendue en 1762 au lieutenant-général Magon de la Gervaisais, en faveur duquel cette seigneurie fut érigée en marquisat, sous le nom de la Gervaisais en 1768. La branche du Vieux-Chastel fondue au XV siècle dans Quélen. Autre branche: Hamon, dit Stultus, témoin d'une donation faite à Bonrepos par Alain IV vicomte de Rohan en 1204; Alain, mentionné dans des actes de 1293 et 1336; Rolland, écuyer dans une montre de 1378; Guillaume, vivant en 1426 épouse Jeanne de la Houssaye; un gouverneur de Pontivy en 1775. Un membre de cette famille a été élevé à la dignite de comte en 1817. La branche de la Roche-Guézennec fondue en 1584 dans Kervéno puis Bourbon-Malause. ...
