Procede del Conquistador Robín D., padre de Luis D. y abuelo de Doña María D., que casó en Fuerteventura con Don Andrés Sánchez Abarnies, hijo primogénito del Capitán Blas Sánchez Sedenó. De dicho matrimonio nació el 16 de febrero de 1659, Don Pedro Sánchez D., Gobernador Político y Militar, primer Coronel del Regimiento de Milicias de la Isla de Fuerteventura. El Coronel Sánchez D. contrajo nupcias en la villa de Betancuria el 20 de octubre de 1680, con Doña María Truxillo D., su sobrina-nieta, siendo sus hijos Don José y Doña Josefa Sánchez D. Don José Sánchez D., fue segundo Coronel del Regimiento Provincial de Milicias de Fuerteventura, por Real Despacho de 12 de junio de 1734, Familiar del Santo Oficio de la Inquisición y Alguacil Mayor del mismo Tribunal desde 8 de enero de 1738. Se destacó este ilustre militar por su extraordinario valor ante el ataque de una escuadra inglesa, que desembracó en Tarajalejo el 21 de octubre de 1740.
