Julien testa, le 6 novembre 1541, en faveur de son fils aîné, Jean Dusault qui épousa à Viviers, le 4 octobre 1577, Andéole de Noalhes. Cette famille fut maintenue dans sa noblesse par jugement souverain. Louis Dussault de Saint-Montan, capitaine de génie, Joseph et Jeanne Dussault de Saint-Montan, ses frères et soeurs assistèrent pour leur fief de Saint-Montan à l'Assemblée de la Noblesse tenue à Villeneuve-de-Berg, en 1789. M. R. de Gigord, auquel nous empruntons en partie ces notes, termine la généalogie de cette maison à Louis-Joseph Dussault de Saint-Montan, marié après 1830, à sa cousine, Alexandrine de Tavernol de Barrès, fille d'Alexandre Henri, seigneur de Chambeson, et de N. de Barjac, de Chabeuil, ils n'eurent pas d'enfants.
