Originaria di Baviera, passata in Fiandra, donde un ramo si trasferì nel napoletano con i fratelli Giuseppe ed Enrico, entrambi marescialli di campo, figli del brigadiere Michele. Fu ricevuta per giustizia nell'ordine di Malta nel 1787, e nell'ordine Costantiniano nel 1756 e per la sua antica nobiltà, riconosciuta ancora dalla Regia Camera di S.
