Nel secolo passato fiorirono i Padri Don Vincenzo e Don Mauro, Professore nell'Ateneo Perugino, il secondo Presidente Generale dei Monaci Benedettini Cassinesi. Pietro fu altrettanto chiaro giureconsulto, uditore della Rota di Lucca e nel 1786 ottenne l'elezione alla Rota di Genova ed, esempio unico in quella Repubblica, gli fu confermato tre volte tale incarico.
