Usaban el título de condes por la gracia de Dios, batían moneda, creaban notarios, armaban caballeros, imponían gabelas y tributos a sus súbditos y les concedían gracias y fueros, teniendo todas aquellas prerrogativas que los príncipes absolutos y libres de España.
