Nobility crown ErailhIllustre maison, branche des Hérail de Brisis en Languedoc. On trouve son nom diversement écrit Herail alias Eyrail ou Erailh. Elle à pour auteur: Jocelyn Eyrail, seigneur de Lugan en Rouergue, lequel testa l'an 1200. Il fut l'aïeul de Saladin seigneur de Lugan dès 1300, depuis lequel est établie régulièrement la filiation. Son arrière petit-fils Jean, seigneur de Lugan, de Buzaremque, etc. (1413), fut l'auteur de deux branches: l'une possédant en Velay les seigneuries de Fugères, du Cros de la Farre, etc. substituée en 1437 aux Dalmas premiers seigneurs de Poinsac et qui s'est continuée sous ce nom; l'autre branche a eu pour tige: Pierre Eyrail ou Herail seigneur de Buzaremque, marié le 2 novembre 1508 avec Anne de Pierre de Gange, dame des baronnies de Pierrefort, de Castries, de Brissac, etc. (Auvergne-Languedoc) dont les enfants prirent le nom et les armes de Pierrefort. A la génération suivante, René, baron de Solignac, Pierrefort, etc. ayant épousé en 1543, Jeanne de la Roue, dame de St-Anthème, Montpeloux, Usson, etc., baronne de Dunières et héritière de sa maison, les d'Herail se trouvèrent ainsi substitués aux deux grandes races de Pierrefort et de la Roue. Ils se sont éteints avec Gabrielle Herail de Pierrefort de la Roue marié en 1670, à Hyacinthe de Saint-Martin d'Aglié, marquis de Rivarol, maréchal de camp. On trouve auusi sous ce nom: des chanoines de N.-D. du Puy, dont un prêvôt (1548); un bailli royal du Velay: Jean de la Roue (1548); un commandeur de St-Jean de Jérusalem (1420); un abbé de St-Chaffre-du-Monastier: Vital Erahil (1437-1493); plusieurs barons des Etats du Languedoc; un maréchal de camp (1669), etc. Très belles alliances. ...
