Este noble y antiguo linaje tuvo su primitivo solar en el Palacio del lugar de Eraso (cuyo nombre tomó), del Ayuntamiento de Imoz y partido judicial de Pamplona. Se extendió por toda Navarra. Una rama fundó nueva casa en el lugar de Eguzquiza, y otra en el lugar de Luquin, del partido judicial de Estella. También pasó el linaje a Guipúzcoa, y en la villa de Urnieta, del partido judicial de Tolosa, tuvo tres casas. Igualmente se extendió por Vizcaya, Álava y Castilla la Vieja. Otra rama radicó en Zaragoza y tuvo línea muy principal en Écija, provincia de Sevilla. Otras pasaron a América, y una de ellas se estableció en Santiago de Chile, donde dejó noble descendencia. Esta familia, originaria de Navarra y radicada en Madrid y en la ciudad y provincia de Guadalajara, tuvo mucho lustre. Fué su tronco Lope de E., caballero navarro muy principal, que contrajo matrimonio con doña Catalina de Ederra, y fueron padres de Hernando de E. y Ederra, que debió ser el primero que pasó a Madrid. Casó por los años de 1500 con doña María de Hermosa y Guevara, y tuvieron por hijo a Francisco de E. y de Hermosa, primer Señor de las villas de Humanes, Mohernando y el Cañal, en la provincia de Guadalajara, natural de Madrid, Comendador de Moratalaz, en la Orden de Calatrava, Consejero de Estado del Emperador Carlos V y de su hijo el Rey Don Felipe II. Este último Monarca, por Real cédula expedida en Bruselas el 13 de Abril de 1556, le nombró Secretario perpetuo de su Consejo y de su Real Hacienda. ...
