Nel secolo XVI il capitano Gerolamo contribuì alla fondazione del collegio dei gesuiti ad Alghero. Suo nipote, un altro Gerolamo, capitano della fanteria di Sassari, nel 1620 ottenne il riconoscimento della nobiltà.
