Jean de Brogny fut évêque de Viviers de 1383 à 1398. L'abbé Auguste Roche, l'auteur de l'Armorial des Évêques de Viviers, nous apprend que le cardinal de Viviers, Jean Brogny, s'appelait Jean Fraczon, originaire du Petit-Brogny, près Annecy, où on voyait encore, en 1860, les restes de la maison paternelle du cardinal. Jean Fraczon eut plusieurs sœurs, entre autres: 1° N...Fraczon, qui épousa le seigneur de Trembley. 2° N...Fraczon, femme de noble Jean de Bessy ou Tessy, d'un Hameau de ce nom, situé à trois kilomètres de Brogny. 3° N...Fraczon, mariée à un noble de Maz, près de Tessy. 4° Jean Fraczon naquit, en 1342 ou 1347, au Petit-Brogny et fut baptisé dans l'église paroissiale de Saint-Laurent d'Annecy-le-Vieux. En mars ou avril 1383, Clément VII lui donna la charge de camérier et l'évêché de Viviers. Nous renverrons à l'ouvrage de M. l'abbé Auguste Roche, ceux que la grande figure du cardinal de Brogny intéressent. ...
