Nobility crown GajardoEn la República de Chile floreció, a mediados del siglo XVI, una familia de este apellido originaria de España, de la que fué Juan Gajardo Guerrero, llegado a Indias en 1573, y a Chile en 1575. Sucedió a Juan Madrid en la Administración de Ligueimo, Pichidegua y Reto en 1603. Fué Alcalde de Mar en Valpara íso, con facultad de usar vara alta de justicia en la visita a los navíos de alto bordo, y tuvo por Real merced la Estancia de Reto de Colchagua. De este caballero hizo un gran elogio el Presidente Alonso García Ramón. Contrajo matrimonio en Panamá, con doña María Pacheco (hija de Alonso Hernández Pacheco y de su mujer doña Luisa Pacheco), y fueron sus hijos Juan G. Guerrero Pacheco, que sigue; Alonso G. Hernández Pacheco, casado con doña Isabel Palma; Pedro Cristóbal G. Guerrero Pacheco, que contrajo matrimonio con doña Magdalena de Sierra (hija de Gregorio Fernández de Soto y de doña Inés de Sierra); Esteban G. Guerrero Pacheco, presbítero, que marchó al Perú en 1632; Mariana G. Guerrero Pacheco, mujer de Pedro de Elosu; María de las Nieves G. Guerrero Pacheco, casada con Juan Molinero, dueño de Quietecura y fundador de un censo a favor de la Catedral de Santiago de Chile; María Magdalena G. Guerrero Pacheco; y Catalina G. Guerrero Pacheco, esposa de Juan Vázquez de Arenas. El primogénito, Juan G. Guerrero Pacheco, fué Alférez y Administrador de Colchagua (Chile) en 1615, dueño de Reto y de diez títulos de tierra, Señor de Asiento y Entierro en San Juan Bautista. ...
