Cette famille originaire du Toulousain. Elle s'établit en Vivarais en 1565 et forma trois branches. Gaspard, chevalier de l'ordre de Saint-Lazare, colonel, inspecteur des milices en Vivarais, fit enregistrer ses armes en 1696. Henri, gentilhomme du duc de Guise, fils de Marc, surnommé le Rhodiot, capitoul de Toulouse et de Louise d'Anvers, épousa le 4 mai 1565, Hélix de Bournet fille de Lancelot, coseigneur de Beaulieu et d'Anne de Chaldeyrac. Leur postérité forma les branches de Combe, de Labrugère et de la Motte. Nohé de Joyeuse, épousa, le 12 mars 1705, Catherine de Chalabrueysse de Galimard, fille de noble Claude de Chalabrueysse de Galimard, seineur de Monteil et de Mezeyrac, de Burzet. En 1787 et 1788 avait lieu la vente des terres et seigneuries du duché de Joyeuse par S. A. Marie-Louise de Rohan-Soubise, comtesse de Marsan, veuve de Charles de Lorraine, comte de Marsan. Le 20 décembre 1787, il fut vendu à Louis-Annet de Combes, le moulin de Joyeuse, le pré ou parc du château, les vignes et terres du Pouget sous l'albergue d'un éperon d'argent tous les vint ans, au prix de 41.000 livres. le vicomte de La Motte, né en 1808, eut une charge auprès du duc de Parme et de Plaiance, qui le créa vicomte. Il épousa mademoiselle Lebeschu, demoiselle d'honneur de la duchesse de Berry et mourut sans postérité. Louis-Auguste-Jean-Antoine de Labrugère, devenu veuf, s'engagea, dans les ordres. Il fut successivement vicaire d'Aubenas et de Privas, puis aumônier de marine. Il mourut à Joyeuse, le 30 septembre 1831. ...
