Nel 1532 cominciò a godere degli onori senatori della Repubblica Lucchese, e nel seguente anno prese parte al Consiglio. Mario fu cancelliere della Repubblica nel 1612 e Pellegrino "Cancellier maggiore" nel 1619. Altro ramo. Antica famiglia, di origine romana. Questa famiglia, a dir dell'Amayden, era sicuramente comprese tra quelle raccolte nel Libro d'Oro del Campidoglio.
