Très ancienne famille des environs d'Annonay dont on connaît la filiation jusqu'en en 1602. Posséda la seigneurie de Matré, paroisse de Saint-Alban-d'Ay. Guigonne épousa: 1° Arnaud d'Yserand, chevalier, seigneur de Chanelosc et coseigneur d'Ay; et 2° Hugues ou Gonon d'Ay. Noble Louis, qui vivait à Annonay au milieu du XVIIème siècle, avait épousé Jeanne Peyron. Leur fille, Magdeleine, épousa en 1670 Siméon Veyre. D'eux descendent les Veyre de Soras. cette famille a laissé son nom à plusieurs domaines aux environs d'Annonay. Elle remonte à André qui était bailli du seigneur d'Annonay en 1284. Noble Joachim, sieur de Matré, eut pour successeur son fils André qui, en 1574, pendant les guerres civiles, fut nommé gouverneur d'Annonay. Les habitants, dit Gamon, firent tant qu'il accepta la charge. André avait épousé Hélène Tavernier des Pontières. Son fils Antoine lui succéda, mais il n'eut pas de postérité et les biens de la maison passèrent à sa sœur Jeanne qui avait épousé Pierre de Fournier, écuyer, seigneur de Brogieux. Ce nom fut encore porté à Annonay par une branche cadette qui donna de nombreux avocats, notaires et procureurs, et s'éteignit dans les maisons Androl, Barou et Peiron. ...
