Este apellido procede de Génova y sus antepasados estuvieron inscritos en el Libro de Oro de dicha ciudad. El noble Francisco J., Conde y familiar del Sacro Imperial Palacio, fue padre de Rafael J., abuelo de otro Francisco y bisabuelo de Pablo y Esteban J.. De Esteban J., establecido en Tenerife a poco de la Conquista, y de su mujer Doña Catalina Rodriguez, nacieron tres hijos. Otro caballero de la familia J., establecido en Tenerife, en los primeros años después de la Conquista, fue Bernardino J. el Viejo, que casó en La Laguna con Juana Morales Martín, teniendo de ella dos hijos. La familia J., queda unida a otra familia genovesa del apellido Lercaro, por el matrimonio celebrado en la Ciudad de La Laguna entre Don Francisco de Lercaro de León y Doña Catalina J. y J., a quien Bernardino J., Regidor Perpetuo de Tenerife, su tío materno, hizo carta de dote en 6 de mayo de 1593, como única hija de Francisca J. y de Doña Argenta J., su mujer y prima, ambos de la gran Casa patricia de los antiguos Soberanos de Quíos. ...
