In un patto di alleanza fra Brescia Cremona, Bergamo e Parma del 1206, esistente nell'Archivio di Cremona, figura tra i molti Consiglieri bresciani un Giroldo "de Masperono". In quel tempo, e precisamente nel 1220 il 27 maggio sul "Liber Poteris" bresciano è nominato il castello di Roccafranca fondato e poi posseduto dai fratelli Lanfranco, Umberto, Giroldo, Pietro e Giovani figli di Adamo Masperoni da Chiari. In questa città, del territorio bresciano, fiorì questa antichissima famiglia, che, come si è visto, appare in modo certo al principio del 1200. Dopo Giroldo parecchi sono gli uomini che si distinsero, soprattutto nella vita agitata della provincia bresciana dei secoli XIV e XV. Così noi sappiamo dallo storico Malvezzi che i due influenti uomini di parte guelfa Sperone e Percivalle de Masperonibus furono trucidati appresso Ugolino si prese le vendette uccidendo o facendo prigionieri una novantina di nemici in una fazione presso Dello. Lo stesso Ugolino lo vediamo nel 1330, quale Vessillifero di Giustizia, fra i delegati da Brescia ad incontrare Re Giovani di Boemia. Un Gelpino dei Masperoni lo troviamo membro influente nel Consiglio Generale di Brescia del 1388; Rizzardo di Rasino e Giovanni, raccogliere armati in Franciacorta a favore dei Veneziani contro i Visconti nel 1426. Rizzardo, uno degli anziani della città nel 1422, figura anche fra i trecento che firmarono l'atto di dedizione di Brescia a Venezia e suo figlio Giovanni che fu Vicario a Rovato nel 1430, a Iseo nel 1435, è fra i sei Mastri della guerra, che Brescia nominò nel 1437 per condurre il proprio esercito contro Niccolò Piccinino. Figlia o nipote di Rizzardo è quell'Elena, Abbadessa del grande e potente monastero di S.Giulia, nel 1465, che poi è deposta nel 1478 con Bolla di Sisto IV in data 11 luglio per essersi opposta agli ordini dei Visitatori Apostolici delegati alle riforme del Monastero. Le sue nipoti Paola nel 1493 e Gerolama nel 1513, coprirono la stessa importante carica. nel Consiglio generale di Brescia, costituitosi in patriziato nel 1488, figurano sempre i Masperoni con i discendenti del Rizzardo sopra elogiato e di suo figlio Giovanni.
