Si hanno notizie documentata dalla balìa di Bovra sin dal sec XV, nei primi del Seicento eressero una sontuosa dimora tra le attuali Via Fantosati e Via della Piaggia in Trevi. Il libro degli stemmi nell'archivio comunale di Trevi, redatto alla fine del secolo XVII non riporta le arme nobiliari delle numerose illustri famiglie di Trevi che all'epoca erano già estinte o insediate in altre regioni. Lo storico Durastante Natalucci, tanto erudito quanto scarso in disegno, ci ha lasciato un bozzetto dello stemma del casato Mazzieri da cui abbiamo ricostruito l'arme.
