Nobility crown MereucTrès illustre maison de la Bretagne, d'une haute antiquité, dont les premiers auteurs connus sont: Guillaume, témoin d'une fondation d'Olivier de Dinan à Saint-Aubin des Bois en 1187; Rolland, arbitre entre le sire de Quintin et l'abbé de Boquen en 1337, Geoffroi, fils Henri, ratifie les propositions pour la délivrance de Charles de Blois en 1351; Rolland et Jean, ratifient le traité de Guérande en 1381; Henry, seigneur de Brévery, vivant en 1400, père de Rolland, auteur des seigneurs de la Chesnaye-Taniot, marié en 1439 à Jeanne de la Motte; Pierre, chef d'une autre branche, vivant en 1400, épouse Jeanne de Launay, dont Bertrand, auteur des seigneurs de Lehen, marié à Jeanne de Plœur, compris parmi les nobles de Lamballe qui prêtèrent serment au duc en 1437; un président aux enquêtes en 1673; une fille à Saint-Cyr en 1757; un page du Roi en 1778, devenu conseiller au parlement en 1786. La branche aînée fondue au XV siècle das Beaumanoir, d'où la seigneurie de cette maison a passé successivement aux Coëtquen, Bellouan, Avangour, Montbourcher, Cahideuc et la Haye de Plouë; la branche de Largouët fondue en 1689 dans Cornulier.
