Nobility crown MerosiVivevano nel Tortonese sin dal XVII sec., e quasi certamente da tempi più remoti: nel 1630 concorsero a ripopolare Paderna stremata dalle epidemie e ridotta a pochi focolari; avevano banco in chiesa, oggetto di lunga e accanita contestazione con i Carbone, feudatari del paese dal 1668 al 1676, e risolta dal parroco con l'aggiunta di un nuovo banco in prima fila a disposizione di quest'ultimi. Sorgono a notorietà onorando ed illustrando casato e patria due secoli dopo: Giuseppe Merosi apprezzato organista del duomo della città e maestro del coro viveva in Tortona, padre di sei figli avuti dalla moglie Carolina Bernardi, mancata nel 1922 e precisamente: Carlo, Lorenzo, Felicina, Marziano, Maria, Pia; il genitore si spense il 25 novembre 1908. Carlo nato a T. nel 1868 e dedicatosi alla carriera ecclesiastica fu assessore del Sant'Uffizio e venne creato cardinale da Pio XI; morì in Roma il 22 febbraio 1930; ...
