Nobility crown MolossiAntica famiglia Pontremolese. E' tradizione che derivi dal ceppo di Casalmaggiore, a cui appartenne il noto umanista Baldassare, detto il Tranquillo, buon poeta latino, il quale fu precettore ad aio di Pier Luigi Farnese; di lui scrisse la vita il P. Ireneo Affò, edita in Parma dal Carmignani nel 1779. Morì il 30 aprile 1528 a Casalmaggiore. Un suo fratello Andrea, si era stabilito a Vico Belignano in Lombardia già in quell'epoca. Un ramo della famiglia lombarda passò a Pontremoli, da dove alcuni membri passarono a stabilirsi a Parma all'inizio del secolo scorso, dando luogo alla linea tuttora dimorante in quella città. Nel R. Archivio della Deputazione Toscana sopra la nobiltà e cittadinanza nel registro dei nobili della città di Pontremoli al n. 62 e descritta la famiglia, ed in essa: Lorenzo, di Pellegrino, di Lorenzo, che compose "Il vocabolario topografico dei ducati di Parma, Piacenza e Guastalla" ed. ...
