Heraldische Spur die Familie: Moosmann
Ancient and noble Swiss family, with main residence in Mogelsberg, in the canton of St. Gallen, even if originally from German, of clear and ancestral virtue, that has worldwide spread, over the centuries. The clear nobility of the House is confirmed by the presence of its blazon in "Die Landammänner Wappentafel aus dem Landsbrauch des Inner-Bregenzerwaldes". Moreover, this family, in all ages, always stands out, thanks to the prominent figures, which gave birth, in the public service, in the liberal and professions and in the military service. Among these, without undervalue the omitted, we would like to mention: Hans, landowner, flourishing in Füssen, in 1363; Bernd, jurist, flourishing in Füssen, in 1492; Eberhard, landowner in Bavaria, flourishing in 1535; Hermann, jurist, flourishing in Munich, in 1603; Georg, master of the field, flourishing in 1649; Franz, jurist, flourishing in Mogelsberg, in 1691; Gaudenz, councillor in Mogelsberg, flourishing in 1698; Friedrich, jurist,... flourishing in Wegenstetten, in 1703; Karl, Lutheran pastor, flourishing in 1707; Norman, jurist, flourishing in St. Gallen, in 1722; Ludolf, jurist, flourishing in St. Gallen in 1734; Herbert, landowner, flourishing in Wegenstetten, in 1746; Franz, landowner in Bavaria, flourishing in 1752; Karl Hans, jurist, flourishing in Mogelsberg, in 1777. Not many families, even among the oldest, can boast a so valuable noble origin, the descendants of which, quite rightly, can be proud. Family names so old, without any doubt, honour not only families but also the cities that welcomed them; seems to be, in fact, very worthy the living members of this family which, with much decorum, carry this noble surname, which has had several illustrious members.
