Nobility crown MoretaJorge de Montemayor, ocupándose de este linaje, dice que tuvo su casa solariega cerca del lugar de Vilvas, pero ignoramos dónde pueda hallarse ese lugar. El linaje que nos ocupa es castellano y tuvo su solar en la villa de Bonilla de la Sierra, del partido judicial de Piedrahita (Avila). Por razones de casamiento se estableció después una rama en la también villa de El Barco de Avila, y el fundador de esa rama fué Pedro M. Maldonado, nacido en Bonilla de la Sierra, que pasó a casar a El Barco de Ávila con doña Estefanía del Bado, natural de esta villa y Señora del hábito de Santiago. Fueron padres de Diego M. del Bado, natural de El Barco de Ávila y Regidor de Salamanca, que celebró su enlace con doña Juana Fernández de Paz, natural de Salamanca (hija de Lope Fernández de Paz y de doña Vadillo, ambos de Salamanca). De esa unión nacieron: Pedro M. y Fernández de Paz, natural de Ledesma (Salamanca), y Caballero de la Orden de Santiago, en la que ingresó el 22 de Enero de 1621, y Diego M. y Fernández de Paz, natural y Regidor de Salamanca y Caballero de la misma Orden de Santiago con fecha 7 de Junio de 1662. ...
