Cette famille anoblie au XVIème siècle, fut maintenue en Velay le 21 septembre 1669, sur preuves remontant à Jean, seigneur de Belinay, vivant en 1534. Celui-ci est dit fils de Pierre Myet, seigneur de Belinay en 1526 et petit fils de Guillaume, riche bourgeois de La Chaise-Dieu, enrichi par le négoce, qui acquit des fiefs en 1492. Par acte du 20 septembre 1578, noble Raymond promet à illustre prince Henri d'Angoulême grand-prieur de France, abbé de La Chaise-Dieu, de racheter certains cens et rentes et justice y enoncés. Quelques années plus tard , le 30 mars 1598, Jean Meyer, écuyer, acquit de Françoise de Montmorin-Saint-Hérem, vicomtesse douairière de Polignac diverses redevances censitaires, dépendant de la baronnie d'Auzon. Amable Myet seigneur de la Morle, obtint la terre de Bonneville en épousant le 19 novembre 1618 Catherine de Chapteuil (fille de Jean et de clauda de Fay), dame de ce fief. Amable, leur fils, mourut au début du XVIIIème siècle, sans laisser de postérité. On trouve encore sous ce nom: un grand-vicaire et un chantre mage de l'abbaye de La Chaise-Dieu (1578); plusieurs vicaires-généraux de l'abbé de La Chaise-Dieu (1574-1586-1622); un protonotaire apostolique (1578); des prieurs de Chomelix; un commandant pour le roi de la place de Chanteuges (1585). Convoquée au ban et à l'arrière-ban de la sénéchaussée du Puy (1689). ...
