Linaje navarro muy antiguo y noble, con casa solar en San Juan de Pie de Puerto, baja Navarra. Juan Ruiz de N., señor de la casa de San Juan de Pie de Puerto, de su repartimiento en Baeza y de los lugares de Benacazón (o Benicasín) y de Benaderuán (o Benirredrá) que le fueron confirmados por el rey don Jaime II de Aragón en premio de los servicios que le prestó en la conquista de Valencia. Casó con doña Teresa de Guevara, de la que tuvo a Iñigo Ruiz de N., señor de su casa solar, de los dos pueblos citados, y de los heredamientos que su padre tuvo en Valencia. Fue alcaide de Xérica y se halló en la batalla de las Navas de Tolosa. Contrajo matrimonio con doña Constanza López de Haro. Este apellido fue tomado de la villa de N., donde poseía el señorío, por los años de 1264, Sancho Rodrigo de N., que estuvo en la Conquista de Baeza. Fue padre de Juan Rodríguez de N., que sirvió al rey Don Jaime de Aragón en la conquista del Reino de Valencia. Otra rama pasó a Portugal. Diego de N., fue regidor de Gran Canaria durante los años 1524 a 1531, cristiano confeso y nieto de reconciliados. Probó su nobleza en las Ordenes de Santiago, Calatrava, Alcántara, Carlos III, San Juan de Jerusalén y en la Real Compañía de Guardias Marinas.
