Es catalán y muy antiguo. Las noticias que de este linaje se tienen alcanzan al primer siglo de la Reconquista. Sus caballeros se distinguieron siempre por sus virtudes militares. Para su antigüedad y nobleza puede consultarse el Real Registro Sigilli Secreti Petri III de 1357, folio 9, y el Real Registro de la Lugartenencia de la Reina doña María, consorte del rey aragonés don Martín, año 1396, folio 60. Su primitivo solar estuvo sito en el lugar de las Oluges, perteneciente al partido judicial de Cervera, en la provincia de Lérida, y sus ramas principales se establecieron en Tárrega, en Urgell y en la ciudad de Cervera. Fueron señores de los castillos y lugares de las Olujas Altes, Vallfogona y Santa María, de los lugares y términos de Frexanet, Montfar, Montialcó, Tudela, Monpalau, Rabassa y Palamós. Varios de sus caballeros y señoras pertenecieron a la Orden de San Juan, en el Gran Priorato de Cataluña. Doña Cecilia O. fué Priora en dicha Orden y falleció en 1294. Galcerán de O. era Señor de las O. Altas y de Montialcó en mediados del siglo XVI. Casó con doña Jerónima Gilabert, de la casa de los Señores de Tudela, y tuvieron estos hijos: Galcerán de O. Gilabert, que sigue, Isabel de O. Gilabert, esposa de Juan de Sabater, y ambos padres de Felipe de Sabater y O., natural de Castellfuliit y Caballero de la Orden de San Juan en el Gran Priorato de Cataluña, en 1601, y Juan Bautista de Sabater O., esposa de doña Angela de Sescomes, hija de los Señores de Malacara. ...
