Heraldic trace of family: Pachi Ancient and noble family from Tortona, a municipality of Piedmont, in the Province of Alessandria, sited on the right bank of the Scrivia between the plain of Marengo and the foothills of the Ligurian Apennines, of clear and ancestral virtue, that has worldwide spread, over the centuries. According to what has been handed down, this family flourished in the thirteenth century and had always participated in the public and civic life of Tortona. Moreover, this House, in all ages, always stood out, thanks to the prominent figures, which gave birth, in the public service, in the liberal professions and in the military service. Among these, without undervalue the omitted, we would like to mention: Tommaso, knight, distinguished for ardor, in the Third Crusade; Gio. Batta, jurist, living in Tortona, in 1457; Luigi Maria, councillor in Tortona, flourishing in 1499; Alessandro, jurisconsult, flourishing in Turin, in 1512; Antonio, landowner in Tortona,... To be continued
flourishing in 1535; Fr Alvise, of the Order of Preachers, flourishing in 1549; Raimondo, judge, living in Tortona, in 1558; D. Luigi, canon, theologian and apostolic commissioner, living in Turin, in 1564; Leone, notary, flourishing in Tortona, in 1609; Agostino, physician, flourishing in Alessandria, in 1626; Alessandro, landowner in Piedmont, living in 1632; Niccolò, Infantry captain, flourishing in 1654; Carlo Maria, councillor in Tortona, flourishing in 1672; Vittorio, proficient militiaman, living in Tortona, in 1681; Fr Giulio, of the Order of Minors Reformed, flourishing in 1699; Nicola, notary in Alessandria, flourishing in 1704; Pietro, landowner in Piedmont, flourishing in 1722; Benedetto, distinguished doctor of law, flourishing in Tortona, in 1755. Family names so old, without any doubt, honour not only the families but also the cities that welcomed them; seems to be, in fact, very worthy the living members of this family which, with much decorum, carry this noble surname, which has had several illustrious persons.
