Los García asturianos proceden de la varonía del linaje Dávila o Blázquez Dávila y de la Casa de Miranda, y por haber radicado en el lugar de Paredes, del concejo de Valdés, comenzaron a llamarse Paredes y G. de Paredes. Los más autorizados genealogistas refieren la siguiente el Conde don Alonso de Braga y su mujer doña Marquesa, tuvieron entre otros hijos, estos Gumardo, que sigue, y Unifredo o Seniofredo, por ser el progenitor de la varonía de las casas de Miranda y de Paredes o G. de Paredes. Gumardo, considerado como tronco de la varonía de Dávila, fué padre de Froyla o Froylano Gumardiz, que vivía por los años de 863, y procreó a Pinio Froylaz, del que hay memoria en instrumentos de la Catedral de Oviedo correspondientes a la era de 944, 946 y 963. Tuvo este hijo Gumardo Pinioliz, que confirma escrituras de la era de 968, 975 y 977, y fué padre de Pinio Gumardiz, que confirmó donaciones en el año de 960 (que es la era de 998), y tuvo, entre otros hijos, a Sonna de Pinioliz (que en el lenguaje antiguo es lo mismo que Sancho), primogénito y sucesor de su padre, que también tuvo varios hijos, siendo el segundo Gimeno Sánchez, Caballero de Asturias, esposo de doña Argantona y ambos progenitores de la familia Dávila. Unifredo o Seniofredo (hijo segundo del conde Alonso de Braga y de su mujer doña Marquesa), está mencionado por su hermano, el Obispo Gladila, en la escritua de donación que otorgó en la era de 901. ...
