Linaje de Galicia ilustre y antiguo, originario de la comarca de Parga (cuyo nombre tomó), perteneciente al Ayuntamiento de Trasparga, partido judicial de Villalba y provincia de Lugo. Enlazó con las familias de Navia, Aguiar, Bahamonde y otras muy calificadas. Doña Sancha Álvarez de P., dueña de la casa de su apellido en Galicia, casó con Alonso López de Aguiar, naciendo de este enlace Marina Pérez de Aguiar y P., que contrajo matrimonio con Alvaro Pérez de Navia, que vivía en el año de 1512, según consta de un pleito sobre el Patronato de los Beneficios de Luarca y Santiago de Arriba. La casa de P. la poseían en mediados del siglo XVIII los Señores de la fortaleza de Torés, Marqueses de la Puebla de Parga. Ramas derivadas del antiguo solar radicaron en la villa de Vivero (Lugo), en la ciudad de Betanzos (Coruña), y en la villa de Viana del Bollo (Orense). también pasaron a León, Castilla y Andalucía. En esta última región fundaron nueva casa en la ciudad de Andújar, de la provincia de Jáen. La rama de la villa de Vivero entroncó con la familia Bahamonde y sus miembros fueron Señores de los mayorazgos de Villaronte, Cazolgas, Lorenzana y tierras de Cabarco. Una de sus líneas pasó a Chile, quedando allí establecida. Fué su progenitor Blas de P. Bahamonde, natural de Vivero, Vicecónsul de los Reyes de España y Francia, Señor del mayorazgo de Villaronte, Cazolgas, Lorenzana y Cabarcos. Casó con doña María Varela y Ulloa, vecina de Vivero, y tuvieron a José de P. Bahamonde. ...
