Nobility crown PatiñoEl linaje de este noble y antiguo apellido, tuvo su primitivo solar en Galicia, entre los ríos Duero y Miño, lo escontramos escrito de diferentes formas pero su inicial era Patiño; Así lo dicen varios autores y así lo expresa también Flores de Ocáriz en los siguientes versos: "Vi un castillo inexpugnable que le cerca Duero y Miño. No cumple que de él se hable, porque es el solar Patiño." Otros autores añaden que ese castillo era el llamado de Patiñorbe, luego P., de cuyo nombre se derivó el del apellido. Sus ramas se extendieron principalmente por Galicia, Portugal y Andalucía. Una radicó en Jerez de la Frontera. Otra de mucho lustre, pasó a Italia creando en Milán la casa de P. de la que proceden los Señores y Marqueses de Castelar, Condes de Belveder, Grandes de España. El fundador de esta casa de Milán fué Luis P., afamado caballero que alcanzó triunfos y honores en las campañas de Malta, Flandes e Italia y quedó establecido en Milán. Fue padre de Diego P., natural de Milán, Veedor General del Ejército en ese estado y del Consejo Secreto de su Majestad. Casó con Doña Isabel de Ibarra, nacida también en Milán, de la que tuvo a Lucas P. de Ibarra, natural de Milán, que desempeñó allí los mismos altos cargos que su padre y casó dos veces: la primera, con Doña Lucrecia Ghilino, hija del Maestre de Campo Don Luis, Señora de Belveder y la segunda, con doña María Beatriz de Rosales, natural de Milán, hija de Mateo Francisco de Rosales, natural de Milán, Señor y Marqués de Castelar, Conde de Baialte, Marqués de Castel León, Caballero de Santiago, del Consejo Secreto de Su Majestad. Otra casa muy antigua, procede de Galicia, de donde sus descendientes se han extendido en varias partes de España, particularmente en Andalucía. Entre los 300 caballeros de la conquista de Baeza se distinguió un descendiente de la casa de Patiño, del cual se desconoce su nombre.
