Famille de robe, anoblie, convoquée au ban et arrière ban du Velay (1689). Des consuls du Puy; des chanoines de N.-D. du Puy. Alphonse Pauche seigneur de Cordes, juge en la cour commune de cette ville (1638), acquit l'office de receveur des tailles du Velay (1642). Claude-Alphonse seigneur d'Allemance et d'Allemancette, juge pour le roi en la cour commune du Puy, devint premier consul (1644) et receveur des tailles du Velay. Claude seigneur de Cordes et Antoine Pauche seigneur de Jallès (1675), firent inscrire en 1696 leurs armoiries dans d'Hozier. Ce dernier portait: Ecartelé: aux 1 et 4 d'or, au chevron de sable, accompagné de trois grenades de même; aux 2 et 3 d'azur, à une tour d'argent. Noble Jean-Nicolas de Jallès est qualifié seigneur de Cordes (1720). Marie-Gabrielle Pauche, fille de Jean-Nicolas précité et de Louise de Béget, veuve sans enfants de Marcellin de Béget, baron de Saussac, jouit comme douairière de cette baronnie donnant entrée aux Etats du Velay, de 1766 à 1781, époque où elle revint à son beau-frère, Armand, doyen de la cathédrale du Puy. La distinction familiale représentée ici sous forme de blason, survit à travers les siècles grâce à des précieux témoignages qui nous ont permis de rapporter les exploits et les gestes de cette noble famille.
