Linaje de la Montaña de Santander, con asiento y morada en el lugar de Santa María de Cayón, del partido judicial de Villacarriedo. En eel padrón hecho en 1595 endihco pueblo, siendo su Alcalde Francisco de Obregón, empadronador por los hijosdalgo Francisco de la P. y escribano Rodrigo Ocejo, figura Diego de la P., "el de sombrero", denominación curiosa q e no se sabe a qué atribuir, por no hallarla repetida en ingún documento montañés. Se le vuelve a nombra ocn la misma deniomicaión en el padrón del año 1600, agregando quetenía de su amtirmono estos dos hijos: Jua nde la P., que sigue, y Francisco de la P. Juan de la P., casó condoa ñCasilda de Reoyo, natural del lugar de La Abadilla ,perteneciente al Ayuntamiento de Santa María de Cayón (hija de Francisco de Reoyo, empadronado en el año de 1595 en La Abadilla como hijodalgo notorio de casa y soalr conocido). Procrearon a Francisco de la P. Reoyo, empadronado como hidalgo en Santa María de Cayón desde 1600 a 1662, que contrajo matrimonio con doña Isabel de Penagos, naciendo de este enlace: Francisco de la P. Penagos, que sigue, y María de la P. Penagos. Francisco de la P. Penagos, empadronado como hidalgo desde 1640 a 1737, casó en Santa María de Cayón con doña María García de la Mora. Testó allí el 3 de Marzo de 1737, declarando por sus hijos y herederos los siguientes: José de la P. y García de la Mora, que sigue, María, Josefa y Ana de la P. y García de la Mora. ...
