Stabilitasi a Valenza Po da circa due secoli, ha belle tradizioni di onore e di civiltà. È a stampa la genealogia, compilata da D. Oliviero, I Menada. Si inizia con Bartolomeo, nato nel 1565 e morto a Casale Corte Cerro il 1° maggio 1627. La sua discendenza si trasferisce in seguito a Feriolo e poi, a metà del secolo XVIII, a Valenza, dove nasceva, Giacomo, che fu sindaco di quella città negli anni 1821 e 1823. Egli aveva sposato Angela Battezzati dalla quale ebbe, fra gli altri figli, Giovanni, autore della linea ancora oggi largamente rappresentata, e Salvatore. Questi, nato a Valenza nel 1789 e morto a Torino nel 1879, veniva in un primo tempo nobilitato con Lettere Patenti 13 febbraio 1827, poi creato barone con PP. 19 maggio 1832.
