Linaje de antiguos y nobles caballeros catalanes. En el claustro de la catedral de Tortosa está la sepultura de Arnau P. Data del año 1361. Son sus armas: De oro, con una pera de sinople. Así aparecen en la sepultura del mencionado Arnau P., y en un sello usado por los de este linaje en 1396 que se conserva en el Archivio de la catedral de Barcelona. Por referencias de historiadores de la época y otras averiguadas por Araldis en los archivos registrales de ciudades y otros privados, podríamos afirmar, pero no asegurar, que este escudo u otro muy similar a él, apareció inicialmente desde el siglo XI al XIV, particularmente en el hecho de las victorias navales de Cabo Orlando (4 de Julio de 1.299) y de Ponza (1.301), formando parte de las tropas de desembarco de los Almogávares.
