Secondo quanto ci viene tramandato, il casato Perinetti discende dai Perrinet del Contado Venassino che, una volta giunti e stabilitisi in Italia, italianizzarono il proprio cognome, mantenendo però l'uso del medesimo blasone. Inoltre, tal famiglia, nobilitata con lettere patenti nel 1776, nel dispiegarsi dei lustri, sempre è riuscita a produrre una serie di uomini che hanno reso illustre il suo nome, nei pubblici impieghi, nelle professioni liberali ed ecclesiastiche e nel servizio militare.
