Nobility crown PimientaEl linaje procede de Portugal, de donde pasó, en los comienzos del siglo XVI, a las Islas Canarias y de éstas a la Península y a Cuba. En Canarias radicó principalmente en Tenerife y en la Palma. Una de sus líneas pasó a Vizcaya, residiendo en la ciudad de Orduña, del partido judicial de Valmaseda; otra a Álava, morando en el lugar de Salmantón, del partido judicial de Amurrio, y otra a la Mancha, con casa en la villa de Almodóvar del Campo, de la provincia de Ciudad Real. De esta última procedió la familia P. en Colombia. La que se estableció en Cuba dimanó igualmente de Canarias. Las noticias genalógicas relativas a los primeros ascendientes de este linaje en las islas de Tenerife y de la Palma, son deficientes y contradictorias. Difieren en los comienzos de las genealogías que establecen, por lo que conviene marcar sus diferencias principales. En una de ellas aparece como progenitor de la rama que, procedente de Portugal, se estableció en Canarias, El Capitán Diego Díaz P., nacido en Portugal, que pasó a la isla de Tenerife a mediados del siglo XVI. Casó con doña Mayor de Franco y procrearon a Pedro Díaz P. y Franco, que fué Regidor, Tesorero General y Teniente de Capitán General en Tenerife. Testó el 16 de Diciembre de 1612. Había contraído matrimonio en la villa de Garachico, del partido judicial de Icod (Tenerife) con doña María Román, naciendo de esta unión Francisco Díaz P. y Román, Felipa Díaz P. y Román, El Capitán Pedro Díaz P. Franco, y Catalina Díez P. ...
