Nobility crown PizzolanteAntica ed assai nobile famiglia pugliese, originaria di Salignano, le cui prime memorie rimandano al XVI secolo, propagatasi, nel corso dei secoli, in diverse regioni d'Italia e, prevalentemente, in Sicilia. Un ramo del casato, inoltre, sul calar del secolo decimo nono, si trasferì in Ruffano e, successivamente, alla morte del principe Leuzzi, il quale lasciò la propria eredità al primogenito di Luigi Pizzolante, si trasferì nel castello di Ruffano. Giuseppe, primogenito del predetto, assunse, pertanto, il doppio cognome Pizzolante Leuzzi. Ma, d'altronde, tal famiglia, nel dispiegarsi dei lustri, sempre è riuscita a produrre una serie di uomini che resero illustre il suo nome, nei pubblici impieghi e nel servizio militare.
